For Elle's birthday, I brought her a new party dress and headband, and she looked like a little African princess. She also had the cake, presents and balloons I did for her sister. She kept saying in Ndebele, "It's my cake, not Ivy's cake. It's my cake." She was so adorable I wanted to cry.I also visited the women of Batsiranai to discuss the possibility of opening a new chapter of the project in Victoria Falls. I want to help the women and children of Vic Falls where so many of my friends are located, and I thought this would be an excellent way to do that. It would be a tremendous undertaking, but I'm willing to do what it takes to make it happen. If I can help even one child go to bed with a full stomach, clothes on their back, access to medical care when they need it, and money for school fees, then it's worth it.
I'm planning to make my third trip to Africa in the next few weeks. This time to investigate my options for the project location, fund-raising options, and to go over lots of details with Rose, Margaret and Nerica at Batsiranai. It will be a busy trip. I'm flying to Tanzania to talk with some safari operators to see if I can arrange a fund-raising safari next year.
Will update you again when I get to Tanzania.
